Free Guided Bird Walk Crowsnest Conservation Society

 6:30 am - 9:00 am

 

 The earlier we leave, the better our chances of seeing good stuff! Enjoy a leisurely 60-90 minute stroll and discover the natural beauty and excellent birdlife of our area. We recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, water and binoculars. Runners are preferable to sandals unless they are trail-type. We will carpool to our location.

Discovery Days at the Museum

Explore the museum and engage in several fun and educational activities:

  • Pasts of the Pass:

Hillcrest challenge, where visitors explore the museum to uncover the mysterious identities of Hillcrest miners and whether they survived the 1914 disaster.

Echoes of the Corridor Guided Hike Nature Conservancy of Canada

10:00 am - 12:00 pm

'Echoes of The Corridor' is a guided interpretive hike at NCC’s Bohomolec Ranch, located just north of Coleman (AKA Iron Ridge). This casual morning hike will be guided by NCC staff and will cover approximately 3.5 kilometres of moderately steep terrain over two hours. Along the way, you will see views of Crowsnest Mountain and the Flathead Range to the west, and the towns of Coleman and Blairmore to the east, while learning about the area's importance as a wildlife corridor and NCC's conservation efforts in the region.

 We will be meeting at McGillivray Staging Area. Please arrive by 9:45 a.m. and check in with NCC staff when you get there. 


ATV Plane Crash Tour - Crowsnest Adventures

11 am - 5 pm

On January 1946, a Royal Canadian Air Force DC-3 crashed near Mount Ptolemy in Crowsnest Pass, tragically killing all seven crew members. Combining local history and rugged mountain exploration, join Crowsnest Adventures for a unique and respectful journey to “The Plane Crash” site.

Built as a Methodist Church and subsequently used as a Union Hall and a community hall, this building now serves as a Masonic Hall. Tours will include the upstairs and the meeting room.

Lions BBQ & Miniature Train Rides

12 pm - 4 pm

Train whistles will echo through Blairmore

Lions Park on Saturday, as the miniature train

provides free rides along its loop of five-inch

gauge track. Guests may ride as many times

as they like between 12 pm and 4 pm, and you 

are welcome to purchase a burger to support
